Oodles Of Olive Oyl Olive Oyl, as portrayed in the Paramount/Famous Studios' cartoons was the object of the first "schoolboy crush" that many of us baby boomers had. In fact, even into our teen and early adult years, we would find excuses to watch a few Popeye cartoons now and then. This page is dedicated to Ms. Oyl and to what her exploits (and her creators) taught us about life and love. |

I've been
dealing with the lessons the old Paramount/Famous Studios' Popeye cartoons
can teach us about life and love. However, looking at the films another
way, I can easily see how repeatedly watching exaggerated characters in
stereotypical romantic plots and situations could lead one to start to
believe the following lies:
