SIOUX CENTER
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Creating a Legacy of
Generosity

Sioux Center enjoys a rich heritage of visionary leaders who worked to build a community where quality of life is valued over expediency and progress is achieved through cooperation rather than confrontation. The Sioux Center Community Foundation is deeply committed to the community of Sioux Center as a place for the future generations to live and work and raise their families with these same goals in mind. Gifts to the Community Foundation can be a way for private citizens to "give back" to the community that nurtured themselves and their families, and to play an important part in making Sioux Center and even better place to live, creating a legacy of generosity for generations to come.

What is the Sioux Center Community Foundation?
The Sioux Center Community Foundation is a locally governed, tax exempt, nonprofit charitable fund dedicated to strengthening our community both now and for future generations. The central purpose of the Sioux Center Community Foundation is to provide a vehicle by which private donors may make a lasting contribution to our community and at the same time accomplish their goals in charitable gift and estate planning.

What are the Benefits of Investing with the Community Foundation?
A donor has the choice of how and when to make their gift, where it will go and how involved they will be in its distribution.

Benefits to donors include:

  •  Tax Advantages
As a publicly supported organization, the Community Foundation offers maximum tax benefits.

  • Simplicity
A gift to the Community Foundation may benefit several worthwhile endeavors through unrestricted funds or specific areas designated by the donor.

  • Effective Leadership and Accountability
Our Board of Directors, composed of knowledgeable community leaders representing diverse segments of our community, provides overall direction and policy. All receipts and expenditures are fully audited.

  • Flexibility
Gifts may include cash, appreciated assets, bequests, securities, real estate, life insurance, and other kinds of assets. They may be designated or undesignated, and can be added to at any time.

  • Recognition or Anonymity
Donors may be publicly recognized for their philanthropy or may remain anonymous, as they wish. Gifts may be designated as memorials or tributes or may be named in recognition of an individual, family, organization, or special purpose.

  • Permanence and Security
Gifts to the community are administered by the Foundation and become part of a perpetual trust, ensuring a permanent endowment to respond to changing community needs. Fund assets are managed according to the Board of Directors guidelines by investment professionals. The Board of Directors holds preservation of the principal value of the fund as its primary investment goal.
