The Sandy Hollow Campground is open for camping. There are 37 camping spots with electrical hookups, plus we have 2 full hook-up spots and 12 with water and electric. There are 4 water hydrants placed around the campground and a sewer dump station has been added. A comfort station is available with sinks, stools, and showers.

Near the campground is a golf course, sand volleyball courts, playground area, horseshoe pit, softball field, soccer field, and fishing. The three ponds have been stocked with catfish, big mouth bass, blue gills, walleye and crappie, so come on out and enjoy the Sandy Hollow Recreation Area.  Bring your bikes - remember the 3 mile bike trail that enters the south side by the volleyball court.

The Sandy Hollow Campground is run on a first come first serve basis. In order to save a camping spot, you must have a tent or camper on the site, and pay for that site for the amount of days the camper or tent is there. A group reservation is possible with 10-20 spots reserved, for a minimum of 3 nights. No holiday reservations. For more information, call the campground office at 722-2491.

  •  Sioux Center Recreational Bike Trail

The new bike trail is open for your biking pleasure. It is 2.9 miles of trail that runs from 20th Street SE to 12th Street NE. You can use the new trail to bike across town to Open Space Park, the fairgrounds, and Dordt College. The new trail joins the Sandy Hollow Trail at Children's Park and Kinsey Elementary. The Sandy Hollow trail between Kinsey Elementary School and Sandy Hollow Recreation Area  provides easy access and safe travel between the community and the recreation area. The trail is approximately 3 miles long and runs through fields and waterways, not directly adjacent to the blacktop.  A shelter was put up along the trail for anyone who wants to stop while biking, walking, running or rollerblading.  We hope you enjoy its use!
