Theme: We can’t have everything we want, every time we want it.
Summary: Henry Green can’t get enough of chocolate, until one day he breaks out in chocolate spots all over his body. He gets examined, poked and prodded by all kinds of people until he finally runs away only to be hijacked with the truck he was riding in. Henry eventually is told of a cure and returns home a little wiser and a lot happier.
Strengths: This is a good book to get third or fourth graders started on novel reading. It is fast-paced, easy reading with much action. Henry learns some valuable lessons about himself and the world around him.
Weaknesses: Sometimes the book gets so caught up into trying to be humorous that it forgets about developing a believable plot.
Other Notes: This book includes cartoon illustrations which help to break up the text.
